VÉZELAY

LOOK INTO THE PAST

Bewonder oude architectuur.

The same amazement every time: when you get closer to Vézelay in the Morvan you will see the silhouette of a large hill rising above the fields and forests. You will immediately look at beautiful medieval facades and you will see the stately Basilica of Sainte Marie-Madeleine towering above the village.

When you are at the foot of the hill you can leave the car at the bottom and continue on foot. This way you can make the most of the architecture of the village, which is one of the most beautiful villages of France. Since 1979, Vézelay has even been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. A true immersion in the past!

Admire the old architecture of the village and enjoy the beautiful view over the Vallée de la Cure.

Take a look at the basilica: it dates from the 12th century and is an important pilgrimage site along the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostella.
